After a well earned break for the Christmas our tilers all returned ready to start a new year at full steam and with contracts on going in South Tyneside, Blackpool and throughout the Northumberland area all tilers are back on site. Even the snow could not stop our tilers and office management team from operating fully throughout the wintery weather.

South Tyneside wall & floor tiling school is now ready for its first lot of keen students. Interviews are being held. Funding is available for students that meet the criteria. If you are interested and would like to grab this great opportunity, download an information pack from the tiling training page and send it to the address listed on our website.
But be quick places are going fast!
We are also in the process of building a bathroom centre called
So watch this space!
Ray Williams and the team have now completed the build on our own purpose built training facilities.
Ray (Company Director) has designed and project managed the training facility build personally and is keen to see that our own team members and some new faces beginning to use the facilities.
Ray was asked about his vision for the training school and answered with:
"To me training has always been at the very heart of my company. I have expected only the highest possible standards from myself and my staff when working on sites. By creating a training centre I believe that anyone coming to us for training will receive the best opportunity for success that any tiling training centre has to offer. This is simply because we have been there, seen it and done it! We can offer on-site experience to trainees as well as the theory and practice needed to gain the skills to cut it out there on site."
We are ready to receive our first students in tiling and plastering so all you need to do is ask yourself: "Are you ready to change your life for the better and learn that skill you have been waiting for?"

Steven Wood, who has recently successfully completed his NVQ Level three in Site Supervising says:
"I was over the moon to be awarded this job as it is another example of how the team here at DMCT is making waves within the tiling world and showing the whole nation what we are capable of achieving."
In challenging times for all the construction industry, tiling and the nation as a whole Paul says:
"In order to maintain productivity levels I am pleased to have won the tender for this contractor. We have shown now that we are in a strong position to compete with the best on contracts of all sizes and deliver a product that we can be proud of. Durham Marble & Ceramic Tiles have agreed to provide ceramic wall tiling to Kitchens, bathrooms and en-suites for Frank Haslam Milan on three remodernisation schemes in South Tyneside.
In line with South Tyneside Council social clause policy of providing local work to local companies and tradesmen we have succesfully negotiated for three full phases of works over the next ten months with work started on site in November 2009.
The programmes will see us deliver complete tiling works to six properties per day over five days each week. This will be thirty houses each week. When Contracts Manager Paul Atkinson met with the site management team in the pre-start meeting in October he rest assured their concerns regarding maintaining to the programme.
Paul said: "When it comes to delivering high quality tiling on programme and to budget I believe that we offer the best quality service available to Main Contractors throughout the country not only the North East. We have a history of achieving the right result for all our customers under any challenging circumstances put before us."
He went on to say: "The programme will be challenging to adhere to but with our quality management system in place for both on site works and order processing I know that the customers of South Tyneside Homes will feel 100 per cent comfortable knowing that Durham Marble & Ceramic Tiles are delivering the tiling element of these works."
To date we have completed four months of the programme on time and with another six months to go the future is looking bright for Durham Tiles' tilers.
